Bound in the publisher's original cloth, with the price-clipped dust wrapper. First published in 1930. This interesting autobiographical memoir explores the life of Major Francis Yeats-Brown, an officer in the British Indian army. The work begins in 1905, when the young soldier Yeats-Brown arrives in Bengal, discovering all that India has to offer, from mysticism and yoga to riding horses and smoking tobacco. This novel was extremely well received at the time of initial publication, also being adapted into a film of the same name in 1935, starring Gary Cooper, Franchot Tone and Richard Cromwell. In the publisher's original cloth, with the original, price-clipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with the occasional small mark to cloth. Dust wrapper is very good, with light edge wear and a little sunning to the spine. The odd spot or handling mark to fly leaves and wrap reverse. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
